About

Hi, I’m Derya — a mother, cancer survivor, and the heart behind Travel Reframed.

In spent most of my early 20s hopping from place to place learning about the world and, in the process, about myself. My 30s was shaped by a toxic relationship during which travel stopped, and little by little, I forgot the woman who solo traveled 130+ countries and chased all her dreams.

At 40, I was diagnosed with two cancers. Facing death shook me to my core — but it also reminded me how precious life is. I promised myself, if I survived, I would live differently: with more joy, and more presence.

Travel Reframed was born out of that promise. It’s not just about visiting new places; it’s about seeing life through a new lens. Travel has become a way to heal and to hope. And to show my daughter there are always new beginnings.

My hope is that other mothers who feel stuck, tired, or forgotten in their own lives will see themselves in our story and realize: it’s never too late to rediscover who you are. This is travel — reframed. Not just movement across borders, but movement back into yourself.
